Name: Ella Fitzgerald Diorama
Made by and When: Laila Johnson, 2021
Description: Laila Johnson collects Barbies and creates dioramas for them. She began making doll dioramas because she wants her dolls to have their own space to reflect their personality.
Johnson built and designed this diorama especially for the Ella Fitzgerald Barbie. She made the basket for the fireplace wood and the wood. She also made the rug, radio, stained-glass window, the gold records, album covers, the large vase and the wainscot. The fireplace, table, and fireplace accessories came in a set and the elegant gold chair is a repurposed jewelry box. The books are part of a dollhouse set. The mirror and gold basket are from a locker set. The flowers are part of a Li’l Woodzeez set.
