Height: 20 inches
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Short black handmade wig, brown-painted eyes, closed mouth with painted lip color
Clothes: Made by the artist, the doll’s costume replicates the clothing worn by Elizabeth Eckford on September 4, 1957. The black-rimmed oval-shaped sunglasses and the penny loafers were purchased.
Other: Part of the artist’s Historical Doll Series, this one-of-a-kind doll honors Elizabeth Eckford, who at age 15 was one of the “Little Rock Nine” students selected to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 4, 1957.
In her own words, the real Elizabeth Ann Eckford recounts the traumatic first day she attempted to enter Little Rock’s Central High School.
