Made by and When: Carin Lossnitzer for Gotz, 1998

Material: Vinyl head, lower legs, and feet; stuffed brown cloth upper body, upper arms, and upper legs; pellet-stuffed lower body, lower legs, and lower arms

Marks: (Head) Carlos / Gotz

Height: 23-1/2 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Auburn curly wig; brown blown-glass eyes, open/closed mouth

Clothes/Accessories: Red/yellow/blue/green striped, loose-fitting Spanish-style romper, matching sash and headband, white one-piece undergarment, colorful pom-pom-trimmed sombrero; multicolored wooden bead necklace, matching bracelet, black leather cord necklace with silver sundial pendant. A decorative wooden ornament and tassel are attached to the left front side of Filipo’s romper. A hangtag and a Gotz booklet remain attached to the back of the romper.

Other: Sculpted by Carin Lossnitzer for Gotz, Filipo was made in Germany, produced as a limited edition, catalog number 98 82823 as part of the Dribble Baby Treasures Around the World series. According to For Love of Gotz Wiki, “In 1988, Carin, along with Doll Artist Sylvia Natterer were two of [the] earliest designers to partner with Gotz specifically in a collaborative designer/producer relationship…  Carin Lossnitzer passed away in 2009.”
