The doll shown is still attached to the box with protective foam around the lower legs.
Other: This doll uses the same head sculpt as Sonali, Cécile Rey, and Melody. Gabriela McBride is American Girl’s first African American Girl of the Year Doll (GOTY). This 2017 GOTY doll represents a gymnast who struggles with a speech impediment that she is able to overcome with the aid of spoken word. A mini 6-1/2-inch all-vinyl version of the doll (shown with the larger doll in the featured image) was sold separately. The 18-inch version includes the book, Gabriela, by Teresa E. Harris. The mini doll includes a mini abridged version of the same title. Gabriela had several separately-sold gymnast-themed clothes and accessories. The doll was archived in July 2018.
