Material: Soft vinyl/rubber head and arms, rigid plastic body and legs, acrylic eyes, paint, synthetic hair

Marks: (Head) 12C PALITOY / MADE IN ENGLAND

Height:  12 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Short black wavy rooted hair adorned by a fabric rose and ribbon, brown sleep eyes with attached upper eyelashes, closed mouth with painted-red lips

Clothes: Wears a period-appropriate red and white polka dot dress with attached white voile pinafore, white cotton panties, white nylon socks, and black patent-leather shoes

Other: This circa 1970s unnamed baby has bent baby legs and uses the same head sculpt as Palitoy’s 1970 Tiny Tears. It is one of a few black dolls made by Palitoy, a British toy company based in Coalville, Leicestershire, England. Palitoy played a significant role in the British toy industry, particularly in the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. Redressed in an outfit sewn by Shirley of idressdolls.com, the doll and fashion were entered in a Lawrence County Extension Homemakers Association contest where it won a second premium ribbon on July 11, 1988.
