Hair/Eyes/Mouth: Replaced Shirley-Temple-style wig, replaced acrylic brown eyes; original eyes were probably glass; has an open mouth with four upper teeth
Clothes: Replaced dress, pantaloons, and shoes
Other: The elbows, wrists, and knees are ball-jointed. The bottom is sculpted for sitting. The January 1921 issue of Toys and Novelties documents “Indian” and “Negro” dolls made by Trego in various sizes including the 25-inch size like this doll. The company made dolls from 1918-1921 fashioned after German dolls with ball-jointed bodies.
