Hair/Eyes/Mouth: Black curly rooted hair in “shag” style/brown painted eyes with rooted eyelashes/parted lips with painted teeth
Clothes: Light green belted mini dress with matching panties, darker green square-toe pumps
Other: Career Girl Wanda stock #2050 was Shindana’s first fashion doll. The company made several other Career Girl Wandas in subsequent years that represented different professions and sports activities to inspire young girls to imagine themselves in these careers (see the gallery photos). Each doll included a booklet with narratives from real Black women involved in the careers the dolls represent. An extra fashion was included with most. Career Girl Wanda is the first multi-career-oriented fashion doll mass produced by a Black-owned company in America.
