Height: Advertised as 20 inches; the actual height is 19 inches.
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Long, dark brown, rooted hair with spiral curls and bangs, dark brown sleep eyes with attached eyelashes, an open mouth with two upper teeth; a sprinkling of black freckles is underneath the eyes and across the nose.
Clothes: Dressed in a replica of the original 1960s “Peppermint Stick” Chatty Cathy dress, a white half-slip, white panties, white nylon socks, and red velvet shoes with a red satin bow at each toe, and a red satin ribbon accents the hair. The dress tag reads, ©Chatty Cathy and associated trademarks and trade dress are owned by, and used under license from, Mattel, Inc. ©2004 Mattel, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Other: Under license from Mattel, Ashton-Drake reproduced this battery-operated pull-string Black Chatty Cathy in 2004. Requires three AA batteries and the pull of the string to recite phrases that include “Please brush my hair,” “I hurt myself,” and “Tell me a story.” The certificate of authenticity bears a black and white image of the doll.
