Marks: The doll is unmarked. The “I Can Be Great” poem is signed by the artist, numbered and dated 98/14
Height: 8 inches
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Brown locs, up-glancing brown-painted eyes with wire-rimmed glasses resting on his brow, closed mouth
Clothes: Wears a green long-sleeved shirt, a multicolored vest, denim pants, black and white sculpted clay sneakers, and a gold-tone hoop earring adorns each ear.
Other: Made for the curator as a gesture of the artist’s appreciation, this little fellow has a wire armature. With one hand in his pocket, the other points downward. He stands with one foot atop a sculpted rock that reads, “I can be great!” The now-framed “I Can Be Great” poem, written by the artist, accompanied the doll.
