Materials: (Doll) Porcelain, synthetic wig, glass eyes; (clothes) cotton and other textiles for the clothes and mink for the coat and headband; (trunk) wood, paint, cardboard, tape, metal hardware

Marks: The front of the handmade trunk is signed, Goldie Wilson / 2004

Height:  14 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Dark brown wig styled in two side pigtails with bangs, brown glass eyes, closed mouth with dark rose lip color (this doll is completely hand-sculpted by the artist).

Clothes and Accessories: Kayin wears a fuchsia three-piece playset: top, skirt, matching pantalettes, white eyelet panties, and handmade fuchsia sandals with iridescent yellow sequin trim across the top. Other clothing items include an eyelet bra which matches the underpants, two dresses, one additional playset, a mink coat and headband, three pairs of shoes, an extra pair of sandals, and one pair of white socks. Accessories include permanently attached pearl stud earrings. White ribbons adorn the pigtails. Other accessories are a hand-painted wooden bear, an old-fashioned tricycle with an attached basket, a doll stand, and a certificate of authenticity.

Other: In 2004, Goldie Wilson made one-of-a-kind trunk dolls. Kayin, named by the curator, means long-awaited. The hand-painted trunk and the entire wardrobe were made by the artist.
