Name: Go-Go Brigitte
Made by and When: 1960s, Go-Go Brigitte
Material: Soft and rigid vinyl, synthetic hair, paint
Marks: (Head) MADE IN HONG KONG; (behind the right shoulder) MADE IN / HONG KONG
Height: 12 inches
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Long, straight black-rooted hair with a side part and flipped up ends; side-glancing eyes have blue pupils, heavy eye shadow, and painted eyelashes in the inner and outer eye corners. Normally, these dolls have brown eyebrows; this doll’s eyebrows are oddly red. The mouth is closed.
Clothes: Redressed in a blue and white plaid two-piece shorts set and white sandals (made by the curator), Go-Go Brigitte dolls were originally dressed in a variety of different colorful mod outfits. Below the gallery, see an originally dressed doll in a video courtesy of Chantal, owner of Plonsjeroze on Etsy.
Other: Black versions of 1960s Go-Go Brigitte dolls are rarely seen. Made in Hong Kong as a 1960s fashion doll competitor and sold in different global markets, the doll in this installation was purchased from a seller in the Netherlands. Their mod-era origin, side-glancing eyes, adorable faces, and shapely legs are outstanding features.

I have one of these dolls, they are extremely rare. I’d love to post a picture of her on your site. I just joined, not sure how to yet.
