Name: Flirty-Eyed Hard Plastic Doll by Levia

Made by and When: Levia, circa 1950s

Material: Hard plastic, human hair, organdy and satin fabric, ribbon, fabric flowers, paint

Marks: LEVIA / MILANO / BREVETTATO (Brevetatto means patented or trademarked).

Height:  21 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Brown flirty eyes with eyelashes attached to eyelids, black shoulder-length human hair wig, closed smiling mouth with red lip color

Clothes: The dark red organdy dress with hand-painted flowers on the bodice and skirt, the brown satin one-piece undergarment, and the red satin ribbon and floral-accented headband are original to the doll. The dress has a removable collar, a waist sash, and a ruffled hemline. The red grosgrain ribbon and cork sandals, made by the curator, have yellow fabric insoles.

Other: Produced in Milan, Italy, this hard-plastic, head-turning, flirty-eyed walker is made of a composition-like hard plastic, wears the original clothes and headband, and has the original Levia, Milano, made-in-Italy foil wrist tag. When the legs are moved in a walking motion, the head turns from left to right, and the eyes appear to follow you.
