Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Black rooted hair styled in two long side pigtails with bangs, brown painted eyes, closed mouth

Clothes: Sleeveless orange dress trimmed in white lace with white front pockets and white nylon panties; a plastic package attached to the box liner includes white slip-on vinyl shoes, white socks, and a comb and a brush.

Other: Sculpted by Martha Armstrong-Hand, Style No. 7377 Carla was first issued in 1974 as Tutti’s new Black friend. This doll is the reissued 1976 version sold in Canadian and European markets only. According to Doll Reference.com, Tutti, and her friends were discontinued in the US after 1971, but still sold in Canada and Europe until 1980.  This doll’s box date (1976) and the four-language box text (English, German, French, and Italian) confirm its non-US market status.
