Material: Fully articulated vinyl with a stuffed cloth torso

Marks: (Handwritten on the left lower torso near the upper thigh) #392/500 / 1996 / artist’s signature

Height: 39-1/2 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Kanekalon wig of multiple black braids accented with a red fabric headband and an attached forehead cross, has brown glass stationary eyes that gaze downward, and a closed mouth.

Clothes/Accessories: Red silk shawl, brown leather wrap skirt, silver and red-beaded earrings, multiple-strand red-beaded necklace, arm rings, and a wooden chair

Other: Part of Philip Heath’s World of Children collection, Nkike represents a child bride from Maasailand between Kenya and Tanzania with simulated tribal marks on the chest. Produced in a limited edition, this Nkike is number 392 of 500 pieces worldwide. Sculpted by Philip Heath for Gotz, Nkike’s Gotz catalog style number is 96 07805. A sitting doll, Nkike I is also posable. A second version that wears white (Nkike II) was produced the same year.
