Wispy Walker

Name: Wispy Walker

Made by and When: EEGEE, 1970s

Material: Soft vinyl face, rigid plastic body

Marks: (Head) 30 (followed by what looks like an N) / © EEGEE Co. / MADE IN TAIWAN

Height: 32 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Dark brown center-parted rooted hair is short on both front sides; it extends to the midback; amber sleep eyes, closed mouth

Clothes: Multicolored plaid cap matches the fabric of the flared-leg pants, a long-sleeved white-trimmed red-knit crop top, and red Mary-Jane-style vinyl shoes that have a molded bow at the toe

Other: This companion doll is shorter with a thinner body than the original Patti Playpal and Playpal types of the 1960s. It does not have a walking mechanism inside. When the hands are guided, it performs a walking motion. EEGEE made Wispy Walker versions during the 1970s through approximately the 1990s. In the current market, Wispy Walker dolls are manufactured by Uneeda, are usually available at drug store chains and big box stores during the holiday season, and may be slightly shorter than the 1970s versions.
