Name:  Simon & Halbig 1358 Brown Bisque Doll

Made by and When: Simon & Halbig, early-1900s

Material:  Bisque head with a ball-jointed composition and wood body

Marks:  Head is marked 1358 Germany / Simon Halbig 7.

Height: 19 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Original black wig, brown glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower eyelashes and black brushed-stroke eyebrows, open mouth with four upper teeth

Clothes: Redressed in a period-appropriate plaid dress and white apron.

Other: Made in Germany, S&H 1358 mold with broad facial features was used for brown/mulatto/black dolls. (Wikipedia: Mulatto is a racial classification to refer to people of mixed African and European ancestry. Its use is considered outdated and offensive in several languages, including English and Dutch, whereas in languages such as Spanish and Portuguese is not, and can even be a source of pride. A mulatta is a female mulatto.)
